This is the trimming method used which does not leave any flange. For a standard trim, processing is generally done by creating clearance from pulling, by finishing the blade edges of the punch and die. However, with the pinch trim processing, the blade of the die is either an R form or shaped based on the actual surface. As a result, the tip of the blade of the punch becomes the edge, while keeping clearance at a minimum.
